Dear Participants, Ladies and Gentlemen,
The third Technical and Scientific Conference of Young Scientists has ended. This year’s edition can be considered as a particularly successful one. It gathered almost 90 participants from 23 universities, technical universities and research institutes. Almost half of them were PhD students and young employees of research institutions other than Warsaw University of Technology, which gives our Conference a truly national nature.
This year the Conference inauguration was esteemed by our honorary patron, Minister of Science and Higher Education Prof. Barbara Kudrycka, DSc, PhD. Mrs Minister gave a speech about planned science reform, which would make research easier for young scientists and help them to educate freely. Mrs Minister also promised to increase the funding for scientific research and that support for young, ingenious scientists is currently the Government’s priority. Conference lasted three days and consisted of 16 sessions. At least one presentation in each session was distinguished. Winners were awarded with annual subscriptions of Technical Review. At the end of the Conference three awards funded by the Marshal of Mazowieckie Voivodeship were granted for the best papers and two special prizes from Polish Association of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics for best presentations in the discipline of mechanics. Novelty of this year’s edition was awarding two prizes for articles that gathered the highest number of votes in surveys distributed among participants. Read more about prizes and distinctions....
We would like to sincerely thank all participants, where most of them demonstrated a very high level of presentations and showed many interesting scientific problems. We also would like to express our gratitude to the Scientific Board of our Conference, which was nominated by Prorector for Scientific Affairs of Warsaw University of Technology prof. Tadeusz Kulik, DSc, PhD, MEng, with a special thanks to those members, who undertook the task of reviewing articles for our Conference Proceedings. We are greatly honoured by the support of our Honorary, Institutional and Media Patrons, and we are extremely grateful to the Authorities of our University for help without which we wouldn't have been able to organise such a large undertaking.
Summarising the 3rd Edition, we would like to invite everyone to participate in the 4th Technical and Scientific Conference of Young Scientists which will be traditionally organised in Warsaw University of Technology.
